DNR Announces New Air Quality Planning And Standards Section Chief

Jason.Treutel

The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (DNR) Air Program added a new member to the Air Management team. Jason Treutel began as the new Air Quality Planning and Standards (AQPS) Section Chief on March 29, 2021.

Jason has been with the Air Management Program since 2007. Before his recent appointment, Jason was the program’s Air Monitoring Quality Assurance Coordinator and worked in air monitoring, stack testing and database migration.

Before joining DNR in 2007, Jason was an industrial stack tester, a bench chemist and provided administrative support for project management groups.

“I am excited and honored to be joining the AQPS section in a leadership role,” Treutel said. “After my time working with the air quality monitoring network and its data, it is great to continue my career with a section that makes use of that data and uses it to help tell the story of air quality. I look forward to helping the Air Program and Wisconsin address our air pollution challenges.”

You can contact Treutel at Jason.Treutel@wisconsin.gov or 608-220-0247.

New Non-CMS DNR Air Program Contacts

The Department of Natural Resources’ Air Program recently adjusted county assignments for small source (non-CMS) air compliance assurance. The new assignments ensure all facilities have compliance assurance staff to contact when needed.  The map below showing the new assignments can be found on the Air Program contacts webpage under compliance.  All assignments are also updated in the DNR Staff Directory for the public to search.
