RAO NEWSLETTER 2021-3 - COVID-19 VACCINATION PROGRAM NOW OPEN TO ALL DOD RETIREES
If you have not received your COVID-19 vaccinations yet, here are two opportunities to consider:
1) The DoD Vaccination Program is open to all DoD retirees that meet the following criteria:
- Medical providers (in ICO, ER, Urgent Care)
- First Responders (Emergency medical, police, search and rescue)
- Front Line Workers (education, postal service, commissary/grocery, agricultural)
- Any retirees aged 65 and older
- Any retiree between ages 18-64 with increased risk for severe illness, as defined by the CDC
Available times to schedule are as early as this weekend. Here are the available dates for scheduling:
12-15 March in Eau Claire
17-20 March in Madison
24-27 March in Madison
26-29 March in Oshkosh
31 March - 2 April in Madison
2-3, 5 April in Wausau
Those are this month's dates for vaccination. Our team would be able to reschedule for their second vaccination on-site. We have the Moderna vaccine, which is a two-dose vaccine.
2) The latest information from the VA about their program's eligibility. The details are as follows:
Veterans who are registered with the VA and are eligible, may schedule to receive the vaccine.
To register, they need to call the Health Eligibility Center (HEC) at 877-222-8387.
They will need to fill out Form 10-10-EZ at www.VA.gov
Eligibility is defined as any eligible veteran that has been Honorably discharged and is below a specified income/county. There are no longer restrictions for age or health. They will however prioritize when they schedule. For example, an 80 year old eligible registered veteran will be placed near the top of the list versus a 30 year old eligible veteran.
