VFC Open Forum September 2, 2026 and Program Updates

This message is being sent to Vaccines for Children providers, local health officers, Tribal health directors, and immunization program staff.

Open forum

The Vaccines for Children Program (VFC) and the Wisconsin Immunization Registry (WIR) units will hold an open forum session to give you an opportunity to ask questions that you may have about VFC, vaccine ordering, WIR, WIR reports, and more. After the presentation there will be open question and answer (Q&A).

This session is scheduled for September 2, 2026, from 11:30 a.m.–12:15 p.m. This session will have a special emphasis on RSV along with other important updates.

Participation is not required, but is being offered as another tool for you to connect with VFC and WIR staff from the Immunization Program.

  • October 7, 2026, 11:30 a.m.–12:15 p.m.
  • November 4, 2026, 11:30 a.m.–12:15 p.m.
  • December 2, 2026, 11:30 a.m.–12:15 p.m.

New Vaccine Storage and Handling Toolkit available

CDC has updated the Vaccine Storage Handling Toolkit. This toolkit provides valuable information, guidance, and resources to help providers store and handle vaccines properly. It is packed with great information.


Flu vaccine

Flu vaccine will start shipping soon! Remember that orders may be shipped in multiple shipments over the season. Our goal is to try to get all providers something to start. If you have questions about your orders, please email the VFC program at VFC@WI.GOV
