Call for Nominations for the 2026 Immunization Champion Award
This message is being sent to VFA providers, VFC providers, WIR users, Wisconsin vaccinators, local health department staff, local health department nurses, local health officers, Tribal health directors, immunization coalitions, and select DHS staff.
The Wisconsin Department of Health Services (DHS) is excited to partner with the Association of Immunization Managers (AIM) to launch the nomination period for the 2026 Immunization Champion Award! We look forward to receiving your nomination of a 2026 Immunization Champion for Wisconsin by Friday May 8, 2026, at 5 p.m.
The Immunization Champion Award is a national award program hosted by the Association of Immunization Managers (AIM) that honors individuals going above and beyond to foster and/or promote immunization in their communities. Individuals can be recognized for their work in childhood, adolescent, or adult vaccines. Self-nominations are welcome.
Instructions for Nomination
Individuals can be recognized for their work in childhood, adolescent, or adult vaccines. Self nominations are welcome. Please submit the nomination form to DHSImmProgram@dhs.wisconsin.gov with the subject line "AIM Champion Award" by 5 p.m. May 8, 2026.
Who is eligible?
- Health care professionals (for example, pharmacists, physicians, nurses, physicians’ assistants, nurse practitioners, medical assistants)
- Nonprofit leaders
- Community activists
- Parents
- School and education leaders
- Coalition members
- Community-based organization members
- Immunization partners
Who is ineligible?
- Employees of the jurisdiction’s immunization program.
- Employees, spouses, and immediate family members of pharmaceutical companies.
- Individuals who are entitled to royalties or other compensation for a vaccine product or process patent.
- Individuals serving as a paid litigation consultant or expert witness in litigation involving a vaccine manufacturer.
- Individuals who have accepted or solicited funds from vaccine manufacturers.
- Previous CDC Childhood Immunization Champion Award or Immunization Champion Award winners.

Timeline for the 2026 Immunization Champion Award
- Nomination application packets due to DHS at DHSImmProgram@dhs.wisconsin.gov Friday May 8, 2026, by 5 p.m.
- AIM award winners will be announced in early August 2026.
