Wisconsin Vaccine Preventable Disease Updates provides statewide data on select vaccine preventable diseases (VPDs) from the previous month. 

Adult vaccination dashboard 

The adult vaccination dashboard has been published. The dashboard includes vaccination rates among Wisconsin residents 19 years and older. The data in this dashboard will be updated annually.

Vaccine-Preventable Diseases Surveillance Summary

The annual Vaccine-Preventable Diseases Surveillance Summary has been published. The report summarizes information on select VPDs among Wisconsin residents in 2024.

Measles 

As of November 30, 2025, Wisconsin has had 36 confirmed cases of measles statewide in 2025. The Wisconsin Department of Health Services (DHS) and Oconto County Public Health do not expect to report any further measles cases related to the Oconto County outbreak.

Measles data can be found on the measles webpage where users can explore trends. Please note the data are preliminary and subject to change. The data in this dashboard is updated on the first Tuesday of each month.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has reported 1,798 confirmed cases of measles cases occurring in 43 jurisdictions as of November 25, 2025. CDC updates their measles case webpage weekly on Wednesdays. Two-thirds of cases (66%) are under 20 years of age, 92% are unvaccinated or have an unknown vaccination status and 12% of cases have been hospitalized, with three deaths reported.

Pertussis

As of November 30, 2025, Wisconsin has 696 confirmed cases statewide in 2025. Since January 1, 2025, 64 counties have had at least one case. While cases range in age from 1 month to 82 years, half (49.1%) of the cases are in young children aged 1–10 years. Sixty-one infants have been identified with pertussis, and 17 have been hospitalized. No deaths have been reported. Overall, cases have been declining since the beginning of the year.

The pertussis Communicable Disease Case Reporting and Investigation Protocol contains up-to-date information on laboratory testing, clinical presentation, and treatment for pertussis.

Varicella

As of November 30, 2025, Wisconsin has 155 confirmed and probable cases statewide in 2025. Since January 1, 2025, 49 counties have had at least one case. Over half (55%) of the cases had a positive laboratory test. While cases range in age from 4 months to 59 years, the median age of the cases is 8 years. Three people have been hospitalized. The majority of cases continue to occur among unvaccinated people with 56.8% of cases having received no doses of varicella vaccine. No deaths have been reported. 

Providers are strongly encouraged to confirm a clinical diagnosis of chickenpox with laboratory testing.

Mumps

As of November 30, 2025, Wisconsin has six confirmed cases in 2025. Cases have occurred in three counties in the western and southeastern part of the state and range in age from 17 to 65 years. One person has been hospitalized. No deaths have been reported
