Vaccines for Children Annual Training

This message is being sent to Vaccines for Children and select DHS staff.

Annual training for the Vaccines for Children (VFC) Program will be available Tuesday, September 2, 2025, through Tuesday, September 30, 2025.

These trainings are required by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the Wisconsin Immunization Program. Failure for both the primary and backup coordinators to complete the annual training will result in your site’s inability to order VFC vaccine.

To complete the 2025 VFC Annual Training follow the steps below:

  1. Review the CDC’s 2025 “You Call the Shots” modules “Vaccine for Children (VFC)” and “Vaccine Storage and Handling.”
  2. Review the Wisconsin VFC Resource Guide (P-02723) on our website.
  3. Once you have completed the training, both the primary and back-up coordinator must individually complete the RedCap Survey to receive credit for this requirement. If you are a coordinator for multiple sites, there is an option within the survey to list each site in which you are a coordinator.

Note: Once you have submitted the survey, a confirmation email will be sent to the email you listed within the survey. Your confirmation email will come from dhsvfc@dhs.wisconsin.gov with the subject “2025 Annual VFC Certificate of Training.”  If you do not receive your confirmation email, check your spam or junk folders. Keep this confirmation in your records as you will be asked to present it to the Immunization Program staff representative during your next VFC site compliance visit.

If you do not receive a confirmation email, send an email to dhsvfc@dhs.wisconsin.gov, include your VFC PIN to request a copy of your confirmation.
