July 2025

Wisconsin Vaccine Preventable Disease Updates provides statewide data on select vaccine preventable diseases from the previous month.

Measles

Wisconsin has had no cases in 2025 as of June 30, 2025. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has reported 1,267 confirmed measles cases occurring in 38 jurisdictions as of July 1, 2025. CDC updates their measles case webpage weekly on Fridays. Two-thirds of cases (65%) are under 20 years of age, 92% are unvaccinated or have an unknown vaccination status and 12% of cases have been hospitalized, with three deaths reported.

Wisconsinites continue to be exposed to measles while traveling both domestically and internationally. It is important to ensure all eligible Wisconsinites are up to date on their measles vaccines. The Wisconsin Department of Health Services (DHS) has a flyer, Traveling? Protect yourself against measles first, with information about measles and travel. You can find this flyer and more new and updated measles resources on the DHS measles webpage, including:

Wisconsin vaccination rate data

The immunization program has vaccination rate dashboards for children and adolescents, influenza, COVID-19, and RSV. These dashboards display vaccination data by location, age group, and demographics. The influenza dashboard also highlights how the CDC’s Social Vulnerability Index (SVI) aligns with influenza vaccination coverage.
