Bulk Prior Authorization Report Updates

The Wisconsin Department of Health Services (DHS) is providing county waiver agencies (CWAs) with updates on the Bulk Prior Authorization (PA) Report. Updates to the Bulk PA report will be available on Monday, June 16.

Bulk PA Report

CWAs will use the “PA Search-Bulk” feature in the Prior Authorization tab, to find converted PAs and newly created PAs. The report contains helpful information on converted PAs, including the WPS-assigned PA number and the new ForwardHealth-assigned PA number.

The report includes the following fields, with updates when applicable:

  • PA number
  • CWA PA number, if applicable
    • Current: WPS-assigned PA Number
    • Update: CWA PA Number
  • CWA ID
  • Billing Provider ID
    • Current: Provider Tax ID for converted PAs
    • Update: Provider Medicaid ID
  • Member ID
  • First name, Last name
  • PA Start and End dates
  • Amendment Indicator
    • Current: Y/N
    • Update: Y, N for amendment indicator or B for Inactive Reversal status
  • Diagnosis codes
  • Service code and service code description
  • Modifiers
  • Units authorized, used, and remaining
    • Current: Converted units remaining as authorized units
    • Update: Originally authorized units approved, used and remaining
  • Dollars authorized, used, and remaining
    • Current: Converted dollars remaining as authorized dollars
    • Update: Originally authorized dollars approved, used and remaining
  • External text: WPS authorization number

Reminder: Hitting Search may result in an error due to the volume of the report. Using the “export” button immediately will prevent the error.
