Resources to Support Submitting Claims Using 837s
The Wisconsin Department of Health Services (DHS) has transitioned to using the ForwardHealth Portal for the Children's Long-Term Support (CLTS) Program prior authorizations (PAs) and claims.
CLTS providers who will use direct data entry, create a claim from a PA, or copy a paid claim for submitting claims in the portal can disregard this notice.
The portal offers different methods for providers to submit their CLTS Program claims. One of those options is using 837s through the portal’s electronic data interchange (EDI).
Providers using 837s
DHS has developed a resource to support CLTS providers who use 837s. CLTS providers must:
- Enroll as a trading partner in the portal production environment.
- Receive a PIN letter for your Trading Partner Profile
- Use the PIN to log in to the portal as a trading partner.
- Test your 837 connectivity and practice using EDI.
- Optional: Complete the process to receive electronic remittance advices via 835s.
Details on these steps and more can be found in CLTS Program and Electronic Data Interchange Guidance.
