FoodShare Fraud Alert
Southeastern Wisconsin currently targeted
The Department of Health Services (DHS) removed skimming devices from point of sale (POS) machines in Milwaukee and Waukesha counties. QUEST cards used at retail stores in Milwaukee, Oak Creek, and Pewaukee in February, March, and April may have been compromised.
On April 8, DHS removed PINs from 2,965 potentially compromised QUEST cards to prevent benefits from being stolen. Impacted cardholders must set a new QUEST card PIN before they can use their benefits. Cardholders can set their PIN on the ebtEDGE website and mobile app or by calling QUEST Card Service at 877-415-5164.
Impacted cardholders were notified by letter and text message from the telephone number 1-844-734-2791.
Working to prevent fraud
DHS recommends that anyone who used their QUEST card in the last 90 days in Jefferson, Walworth, Waukesha, Rock, Racine, or Kenosha counties change their QUEST card PIN to protect their FoodShare benefits.
DHS added a banner at the top of the ACCESS login page to alert visitors to change their QUEST card PIN.
