Updated Wisconsin HAI Prevention Program Infection Preventionist Coverage
This bulletin is being sent to local health officers, Tribal health directors, local public health department staff, local public health nurses, infection preventionists, NHSN users, and DQA Notifications and Updates and Assisted Living Forum subscribers.
The Wisconsin HAI Prevention Program has recently restructured the infection preventionist (IP) team, increasing the number of infection preventionists providing direct, regional, infection prevention and control (IPC) support to health care facilities and local and Tribal health departments (LTHDs) across Wisconsin.
Previously, IP coverage followed the Wisconsin public health regions and five infection preventionists were designated to Wisconsin’s 72 counties. As of March 3, 2025, coverage will follow updated regional boundaries unique to the HAI Prevention Program IP team. This restructure increases the number of IPs available to provide regional support, distributing Wisconsin’s 72 counties amongst nine IPs. This will allow IPs to better build and strengthen close, working relationships with LTHDs and health care facilities in their designated region.
Updated points of contact for the nine regions are as follows:
- Region 1: Anna Marciniak, MLS(ASCP), CIC, LTC-CIP
- Region 2: Jennifer Kuhn, BSN, RN, CIC
- Region 3: Tess Hendricks, BS, MLS, CIC
- Region 4: Rebecca LeMay, MSN, RN
- Region 5: Greta Michaelson, MHA, BSN, RN, LTC-CIP
- Region 6: Paula Pintar, MSN, RN, ACNS-BC, CIC, FAPIC
- Region 7: Beth Ellinger, MS, MPH, CIC
- Region 8: Ashley O’Keefe, MLS(ASCP)CM, CIC, CDIPC
- Region 9: Nikki Mueller, MLS(ASCP)CM, MBA, CIC
Contact information for each IP is listed on our contacts webpage.
