Immunization Policy and Procedure Manual Updates
This email is being sent to local health officers, Tribal health directors, and key DHS staff.
The Immunization Program Policy and Procedure (P&P) Manual may be accessed on the PCA Portal (SharePoint).
Appendix B
- Appendix B (pediatric eligibility) has been updated to remove “underinsured” as an eligibility category for receipt of VFC vaccine at the local health department. Underinsured children may receive VFC vaccine at a federally qualified health center or rural health center.
- Underinsured adults continue to be eligible to receive Vaccines for Adults (VFA) vaccine at local and tribal health departments. No changes have been made to Appendix B1 (adult eligibility).
Pneumococcal vaccine
There is still a small supply of PCV20. Orders will be limited to 10 doses. It is anticipated that the supply will be depleted during the first quarter of 2025, and will not be replenished until October 2025.
Tdap vaccine
Beginning February 1, 2025, VFA Tdap may only be administered among uninsured and underinsured adults.
Policy and Procedure manual
The consolidated P&P, which includes all sections, has been posted. Note that some sections of this larger document will become outdated during the year as individual sections are updated.
