Statewide Public Health Data Infrastructure Assessment: Local health department survey preliminary analysis next steps

The Division of Public Health’s (DPH) Office of Health Informatics invites you to share your thoughts on the key takeaways listed in the October 1 GovD. If there are additional insights you feel were missed, or other feedback you would like to provide, please reach out to dhsdmiquest@dhs.wisconsin.gov. Phase 2 of the project will focus on collaborating with local health departments through site visits (in-person or virtual) to support additional data collection and inform data modernization strategic planning. The process will go beyond the initial survey questions, allowing for a deeper and more detailed exploration of the key issues and opportunities. Keep an out for upcoming communications.

Accreditation support for local and Tribal health departments

Soon there will be new funding to support voluntary public health accreditation costs! Through the PHI Grant, DPH has established a procurement relationship with the Public Health Accreditation Board (PHAB) to financially support interested local and Tribal health departments’ accreditation and accreditation readiness efforts. DPH will cover fees associated with completing your agency’s next step towards accreditation. Be on the lookout for more information and an interest survey by the end of the year.
