Wisconsin Department of Health Services sent this bulletin at 04/01/2024 10:00 AM CDTThe Wisconsin Department of Health Services (DHS) Office of Health Equity has published its request for applications (RFA) and is now accepting applications for the Minority Health Grant Program. The Minority Health Grant Program funds projects from community-based organizations across the state that are working to eliminate health disparities impacting members of economically disadvantaged racial and ethnic communities.
The Minority Health Program is committed to supporting the work of community partners across the state who are working to improve the health of Wisconsin’s communities of color—where health disparities are high. This includes expanding capacity for the Minority Health Program which funds grantees working across Wisconsin communities to help raise awareness and education around health issues that affect communities of color. These partnerships are vital to advancing health equity across Wisconsin.
About the Grants
We are excited to announce that we have published two request for applications (RFA) and are now accepting applications for the Minority Health Grant Program for the FY 2024-2025 cycle:
- The Community Grants will support community capacity building projects that address the underlying causes of complex health outcomes and promote health equity. Learn more about the Community Grants here.
- The Public Health Information Campaign (PHIC) Grant will fund a project that raises public awareness of health disparities and health equity issues impacting economically disadvantaged communities and amplifies voices of those impacted by developing and disseminating informational messaging. Learn more about the PHIC here.
Funding is available to support the work of community-based or tribal organizations that work with minoritized and economically marginalized groups, as defined in statute, in areas where health disparities are high to engage impacted communities in developing solutions and strategies regarding policy, system and environmental changes that would improve health and well-being. MHP is a capacity building, cohort model and funded projects are expected to participate in bi-monthly meetings focused on capacity building, relationship building, and shared learnings among funded projects.
We encourage all interested applicants to register for the session: MHP 2024-2025 RFA Technical Webinar: April 10 at 12:00 pm CDT for a virtual informational session to learn more about the Minority Health Program.
