Updated Benefit Replacement Deadline for FoodShare Members Affected by January Winter Storms

The USDA Food and Nutrition Service (FNS) has waived the 10-day reporting requirement for some members who lost food bought using their SNAP benefits in the severe winter weather that occurred January 12 - January 13, 2024.

FoodShare members who live in Green Lake, Jefferson, Kenosha, Marquette, Milwaukee, Ozaukee, Racine, Sheboygan, Washington, Waukesha, or Waushara counties have until February 12, 2024, to request food replacement benefits from the storms. Food replacements will be only approved for the amount that was lost due to the storms. This amount cannot be more than how much a member is allocated for their household in a month.

Members can request replacement benefits by submitting a Request for Replacement FoodShare Benefits form (F-00330). The completed form and any additional documents can be submitted online using ACCESS, in person at their agency, by mail, or by fax. Members can also request replacement benefits by calling their local or tribal agency.
