Thank You

October 15–21 is International Infection Prevention Week (IIPW). IIPW is a week to celebrate and recognize all health care professionals who play a critical role in keeping patients, residents, and the public healthy and safe.

This year's IIPW theme is “Celebrating the Fundamentals of Infection Prevention.” Basic infection prevention practices, such as hand hygiene, cleaning and disinfection, and respiratory etiquette, are crucial in preventing the spread of infections and antibiotic resistance.

The Wisconsin Healthcare-Associated Infections Prevention Program wants to thank all infection prevention professionals on the hard work they do every day to prevent the spread of infections in Wisconsin. We encourage our health care and public health partners to celebrate their infection prevention professionals including infection preventionists, environmental services staff, nurses, and other health care staff by recognizing the work that they do.

For more resources on celebrating IIPW, check out the Infection Prevention and You webpage.
