ODHH Community Connect
What is ODHH Community Connect?
ODHH is hosting a series of informal meetings to share information, answer questions, and connect with our Deaf and Hard of Hearing community. Each meeting will have a general theme, and we encourage you to bring your questions and comments to share.
When is the next ODHH Community Connect meeting?
Our next meeting will be October 5, 2023.
What is the topic for the next meeting?
Topic: Becoming Hearing Empowered
Katherine Rybak was born with a mild to moderate hearing loss that wasn't discovered until kindergarten. She shares how her fluctuating and progressive hearing loss has affected her life through the years. Katherine is a recently retired teacher for the deaf and hard of hearing, and reflects on how working with children, and recent interactions with friends and family with newly discovered hearing loss, led her to write an innovative guided journal addressing the emotional impact of hearing loss, promoting healthy self-advocacy skills, and combating the effects of stigma.
Are the meetings accessible?
Yes, the meetings are accessible. We will have interpreters and live captioning for all of our meetings.
We can't wait to see you!
