FALL CAREGIVER WORKSHOPS ANNOUNCED

The University of Wisconsin (UW) Oshkosh Center for Community Development, Engagement and Training (CCDET) and the WI Department of Health Services, Division of Quality Assurance (DQA) are pleased to offer virtual training sessions of the Wisconsin Caregiver Training Project in fall 2023.

Fall training dates for September through December 2023 are now posted at https://uwosh.edu/ccdet/caregiver-register/. Space is limited and workshops fill quickly so be sure to register soon!

To help keep these workshops affordable and accessible, they are partially subsidized by DQA. You can attend for only $75-$100 and choose between a.m. or p.m. sessions in most cases. Workshops are facilitated by experienced CCDET trainers and attended by DQA subject matter experts.

5 Steps to Caregiver Background Checks – September 12, October 18, or
December 7

  • Are you responsible for conducting caregiver background checks on new and existing employees and contractors? If so, don’t miss this virtual workshop.
  • The upcoming workshops highlight the five steps needed to ensure compliance with the background check requirements.

Investigating and Reporting Allegations of Misconduct – September 26, October 25, or December 12

  • This workshop is appropriate for individuals responsible for investigating and reporting allegations of misconduct in all DQA-regulated healthcare, home care and residential provider settings.
  • This 4-hour virtual workshop will help participants identify key components of thorough investigations and reporting requirements that meet DQA regulations.

Continuing Education for Caregivers: Training for Trainers – October 12, November 9, or November 28

  • Learn to access and train topic content along with presentation tips for 19 classroom-style presentations plus six misconduct prevention videos.
  • Materials are appropriate for providers regulated by DQA. Upon completion of the virtual sessions, participants will be able to train direct caregivers and other staff in their own entities.
