Wisconsin Vaccines for Children Program (VFC)

Vaccine Announcements and Updates

This message is being sent to the following lists: Local Public Health Officers, Tribal Health Directors, Vaccines for Children, Immunization Program, and key DPH staff. 

The VFC Program has three new products to announce. Beginning September 1, 2023, the following vaccines will be available in the Wisconsin Immunization Registry (WIR) for you to begin ordering.

I. Prevnar 20

  • Code: NDC 00005-2000-10
  • Presentation: 5 mL prefilled syringes
  • Minimum order: 10 doses


II. MENVEO One Vial presentation

  • Code: NDC 58160-0827-30
  • Presentation: 10 single dose 0.5 mL vials
  • Notes:
    • No reconstitution needed
    • Ages 10–55
    • Presented as a single vial with a pink cap

III. MENVEO Two-Vial presentation

  • Code: NDC 58160-0955-09
  • Presentation: 10 vials equaling 5 doses of 0.5 mL
  • Notes:
    • Ages 2 months through 55 years: to be used with high-risk* infants only
    • A vial with a gray cap containing the MenCYW-135 liquid conjugate component.
      • Your order will include a vial with an orange cap containing the MenA lyophilized conjugate component. Reconstitution required
    • The two vials must be combined prior to administration to form one dose of MENVEO

*Please note: The MENVEO Two-Vial will be allocated by the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and should only be used for infants who meet one of the high risk recommendations outlined by the ACIP in the Child and Adolescent Immunization Schedule, Special Situations section.

Ordering notes: Providers may not order MENVEO Two-Vial directly in WIR. To order this product, please send your request to the VFC team at VFC@WI.GOV. You must include: Your VFC PIN, clinic name, contact name, phone number and the number of doses requested. Orders will be approved and filled by VFC staff on a case-by-case basis depending upon the current allocation status.

Td Vaccine (Massachusetts Biologic Laboratories)

This product is currently not available. At this time we do not have a date that it will be back in stock. It will remain on the order form. Please select another product. If you do choose this product your order will be denied and you will be asked to reorder a different product. We apologize for the inconvenience.

Flu Vaccine 2023–24 Season

VFC Influenza vaccine is arriving at McKesson and will be available for distribution soon. Keep in mind that the vaccine may arrive in multiple shipments at different times depending on the quantity you requested. Be sure to keep copies of your packing slips which will assist you in keeping track of how much vaccine you have received versus how much you requested. If you do not remember what you prebooked, you can look that up in WIR. You cannot change the amount because all prebooked orders have been approved.
