Forecasted Funding Opportunities in Adolescent Health
The Wisconsin Department of Health Services (DHS) Adolescent Health Team is excited to announce multiple upcoming funding opportunities to benefit Wisconsin’s young people.
DHS has been awarded a new grant from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) Office of Population Affairs. The grant, Advancing Equity in Adolescent Health through Evidence-Based Teen Pregnancy Prevention Programs and Services, will support the implementation of programs to improve adolescent sexual health outcomes and promote positive youth development in Wisconsin. Opportunities to apply for this funding will be posted late summer 2023. Additionally, the team will be announcing one funding opportunity for the Title V Maternal and Child Health (MCH) Grant.

DHS anticipates releasing the following funding opportunities
Advancing Equity in Adolescent Health through Evidence-Based Teen Pregnancy Prevention Programs and Services Grant (various opportunities):

Implementation Partners: Organizations will implement approved evidence-based or evidence-informed youth programs that improve adolescent sexual health outcomes and promote positive youth development. Funded partners will provide inclusive and equitable environments, utilize a trauma-informed approach, and engage with parents, guardians, and caregivers.
- Anticipated announcement date: September 2023
- Anticipated start date: November 1, 2023, with the expectation programming would start by January 2024. We anticipate funding partners via annual contracts through June 30, 2028.
- Funding amount to be determined

Statewide Youth Engagement Partner: Organization will co-lead efforts to align adolescent health initiatives in Wisconsin, support youth engagement efforts, and provide coaching around youth engagement and youth leadership best practices.

- Anticipated start date: September 1, 2023. We anticipate funding a partner via annual contract through June 30, 2028.
- Funding amount to be determined

Statewide Training and Support Partner: Organization will support local partners in delivering high-quality youth programs through developing and providing professional development and learning opportunities, monitoring, and coaching on program fidelity, and individualized assistance.
- Anticipated announcement date: August 2023
- Anticipated start date: September 1, 2023. We anticipate funding a partner via annual contract through June 30, 2028.
- Funding amount to be determined
Title V Maternal and Child Health Grant:

Wisconsin LGBTQIA2S+ Youth Acceptance Project: Organization will lead efforts to improve mental health and protective factors among Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer and Questioning, Intersex, Asexual, and Two-Spirit (LGBTQIA2S+) Wisconsin youth.
- Anticipated announcement date: late July 2023
- Anticipated start date: October 1, 2023. We anticipate funding a partner via annual contract through September 30, 2025.
- Anticipated award amount: $15,000-$30,000
Grant funding is expressly dependent upon the availability of funds to DHS from federal funding appropriations. Be on the lookout for these funding opportunities that will be announced late summer.
