2023 CAREGIVER WORKSHOPS ANNOUNCED
The University of Wisconsin (UW) Oshkosh Center for Community Development, Engagement and Training (CCDET), and the WI Department of Health Services, Division of Quality Assurance (DQA), are pleased to offer virtual and in-person training sessions of the Wisconsin Caregiver Abuse and Neglect Prevention Project in 2023. These workshops are partially subsidized by DQA.
Continuing Education for Caregivers: Training for Trainers – 3 NEW TRAINING TOPICS Would you welcome ready-made, cost-free training materials designed to meet continuing education requirements for your staff? Learn to access and train topic content, along with presentation tips for 19 classroom-style presentations, plus 6 misconduct prevention videos. Materials are appropriate for providers regulated by DQA. Samples of presentations in this Spring 2023 workshop include:
- Caregivers are Key to Preventing Misconduct
- Compassion Fatigue in Caregiving
- Addressing Substance Use Disorder (SUD) and Medication Diversion
- Misconduct Prevention Experiential Video – Paula Plummer
In-Person training is schedule from 8:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m.:
The location for this in-person training is to be determined but will be in the Milwaukee area.

Investigating and Reporting Allegations of Misconduct (for all DQA-regulated providers) This workshop is appropriate for individuals responsible for investigating and reporting allegations of misconduct in DQA-regulated facilities. This 4-hour virtual workshop will help participants identify key components of thorough investigations and reporting requirements that meet DQA regulations.
Participants will learn about:
- Misconduct definitions
- Developing an investigation protocol
- Conducting an internal investigation
- Interviewing skills
- Reporting requirements for DQA regulated entities
The workshops are facilitated by experienced CCDET instructors and attended by DQA subject matter experts.
