Update on AMI Vaccination Clinics
AMI Expeditionary Healthcare (AMI), the state’s vaccination partner, is beginning to wind down its vaccination clinic services this month with all vaccination clinic services ending by January 14, 2023. The Wisconsin Department of Health Services (DHS) has contracted with AMI to operate COVID-19 community-based and mobile vaccination clinics on the state’s behalf since early 2021.
The three remaining AMI-operated Wisconsin community-based clinics in Douglas, Marathon, and Racine counties, as well as recurring clinics across the state, are expected to end operations by December 18.
Requests for AMI mobile vaccination clinics set to take place through January 14, 2023, will be granted, or denied based on the remaining resources available at the time. The State COVID-19 Resource Matching Survey used to request AMI mobile vaccination clinics will no longer be available after 9 a.m. on January 4, 2023. So, please submit requests before this time for consideration.
Many Vaccination Options Will Remain
We encourage you to remind people there are multiple vaccination options available.
While AMI-operated community-based and mobile vaccination clinics are soon coming to an end, there continues to be a robust network of COVID-19 vaccine providers throughout the state. There are many options available for getting vaccinated. These multiple options include pharmacies, doctors or health care providers, locally operated community-based vaccination clinics, local and tribal health departments, employers, and pop-up clinics.
Please encourage people to seek out the many available vaccination options that will continue. DHS encourages all Wisconsinites to get protected against COVID-19. To find a vaccine location in your community: visit Vaccines.gov, call 211 or 877-947-2211, or visit the 211 COVID-19 vaccination special events web page for more vaccination options.
Staying Up to Date with Vaccines
We ask you to encourage people to stay up to date on all their recommended vaccines.
DHS urges everyone to get all recommended vaccines, including the updated COVID-19 booster and the flu vaccine, to help prevent and slow the spread of respiratory illnesses.
Data from the updated DHS COVID-19 Vaccine Dashboard show less than 16% of Wisconsinites have gotten their updated COVID-19 booster. It is especially important for older people, people with chronic health conditions, people who are pregnant, and young children to get vaccinated to prevent severe disease.
