Governor's Conference on Emergency Management and Homeland Security 2023
Call for Abstracts—Public Health and Medical
The Wisconsin Department of Health Services Office of Preparedness and Emergency Health Care (OPEHC) invites you to submit an abstract for the 2023 Governor’s Conference on Emergency Management and Homeland Security, which will be held February 27–March 1, 2023, at the Marriott West in Madison, Wisconsin. Abstracts can be submitted via email to Sam Anderson at samuel.anderson@dhs.wisconsin.gov.
The theme for the 2023 conference is “On Track for the Future Together." Abstracts must relate to one of the following focus areas:
- Disaster behavioral health
- Local response to recent incidents (2021–2023)
- Integrating access and functional needs into preparedness activities
- Cross-sectoral coalition partners working together
- Innovative approaches in preparedness, response, or recovery
- Tribal health emergency preparedness
- Pandemic Influenza or other special pathogens
- Data collection and surveillance during disasters and emergencies
- EMS leadership in preparedness activities
- Effective communication strategies in emergencies
- Incorporating disaster volunteer services into response and recovery efforts
The proposal submission deadline is Monday, December 12, 2022, 11:59 p.m. CT. Abstracts will be reviewed, and authors of selected abstracts will be notified by Friday, December 23, 2022.
If selected for presentation, speakers agree to:
- Submit PowerPoint presentations to OPEHC at least 10 days prior to the conference.
- Present information in an objective manner.
- Plan for a 75-minute presentation.
- Allow the abstract submission information to be used in conference materials, including the PDFs of electronic presentations and marketing materials.
- Allow the presentations to be reproduced and made publicly available.
