LHD Assessment Executive Summary Now Available
This bulletin is being sent to local health officers, Tribal health directors, and key DPH staff.
Summary
In late 2021, Wisconsin local health officers provided information about state and local engagement through focus groups and key informant interviews that was analyzed and results were presented in early 2022. An executive summary of these results is now available. The LHD Assessment Executive Summary captures key takeaways from the full report that reflects shared experience during the pandemic and opportunities to improve.
Background
About a year ago, the Office of Policy and Practice Alignment (OPPA) embarked on an engagement assessment to improve communication, strengthen relationships and build trust with local health departments, and to gain a better understanding of emerging equity and health department leader priorities across regions. Since that time, a report on the outcomes of this assessment was presented to health officers. That report identified overall challenges, opportunities, and proposed solutions to strengthen and unite the governmental public health sector. Additionally, the Division of Public Health and partners have implemented early initiatives to positively impact relationships across governmental public health.

This bulletin is being shared with Tribal health directors for awareness.
