Local and Tribal PHEP Monkeypox Funding Needs Survey
The Wisconsin state Public Health Emergency Preparedness (PHEP) program is administering a survey to collect information on local health department and Tribal health center current and anticipated monkeypox response funding needs.
Please complete this survey by 11:59 p.m. on Wednesday, September 7.
Using PHEP Funds for Response
While PHEP Cooperative Agreement funds are primarily authorized for preparedness planning, PHEP funds may, on a limited, case-by-case basis, be reallocated to support response activities to the extent they are used for their primary purposes: to strengthen public health preparedness and enhance the capabilities of state, local, and territorial governments to respond to public health threats. Use of PHEP funds in these instances must be consistent with the underlying authority for the PHEP program and within the scope of the PHEP cooperative agreement.
To request PHEP funds to support emergency response efforts, the Wisconsin state PHEP program must submit a required justification for use of the funds and information regarding planned activities to their assigned CDC PHEP project officer.
To support the CDC-required request process and assess local and Tribal monkeypox response funding needs (from any funding source), the state PHEP program is administering this optional survey. The state PHEP program will continue to update local and Tribal public health partners regarding their ability to use PHEP funds to support monkeypox response.
In addition to PHEP funding, select other CDC cooperative agreements or grants may be options to support monkeypox activities.
