Gov. Evers, DHS Announce Wisconsin Vaccinators Have Administered 10 Million Doses of COVID-19 Vaccine
Gov. Tony Evers and the Wisconsin Department of Health Services (DHS) announce that more than 10 million doses of COVID-19 vaccine have been administered in the state of Wisconsin, including over 2.5 million additional and booster doses. More than 60% of all Wisconsinites have completed their COVID-19 vaccine series and 35% have received an additional or booster dose.
“Wisconsin’s vaccine providers have worked tirelessly these past few years, and we’ve been proud over the course of this pandemic to be a national leader in getting available shots in arms,” said Gov. Evers. “This is a tremendous milestone, and we couldn’t have gotten here without the hard work and dedication of everyone involved. Whether you’re administering shots, scheduling appointments, answering phones, or sanitizing workstations – thank you.”

WIR Unavailable August 20-21 from 7 a.m. – 8 p.m.
The Wisconsin Immunization Registry (WIR) will be undergoing regular maintenance on its computer servers on Saturday, August 20, and Sunday, August 21. The work will take place both days between the hours of 7 a.m. and 8 p.m. During these timeframes, vaccinators will not be able to use WIR.
DHS urges vaccinators to plan for WIR not being available during this timeframe and to make other arrangements, that will allow them to access immunization records, if possible. This will be especially important and have the most impact on vaccinators that are holding vaccination clinics during the weekend of August 20-21.
