Flu Vaccine Prebook for 2022-2023
The window for prebooking influenza vaccine for the 2022-2023 influenza season will close at the end of day on February 2, 2022.
You are encouraged to prebook influenza vaccine for your regular flu clinics, school clinics, and mass vaccination exercises in the 2022-23 season. If there is a chance that you are interested in providing these clinics for the 2022-2023 season, place an order for vaccine now.
If you are not sure whether you will hold a clinic or mass vaccination exercise, you are also encouraged to order now. Should you not be able to conduct the clinic, you can contact us and we will cancel your request. The flu vaccines must be ordered now. If you do not prebook and decide later that you want to hold a clinic or a mass vaccination exercise, there may not be vaccine available. It is better to prebook vaccine and have to cancel than to later decide that you want to do an exercise and not have vaccine available.
If you have already placed your prebook for next season, thank you! If not, you are encouraged to order now. Please see the instructions below for ordering influenza vaccine.
Local Health Departments and Mass Vaccination Exercise
The Wisconsin Immunization Program and the Office of Preparedness and Emergency Health Care (OPEHC) are partnering again to allow health departments and tribal health offices the opportunity to conduct mass vaccination exercises for pediatric patients using state-supplied influenza vaccine.
Influenza vaccine will be the only vaccine available for mass vaccination exercises. Therefore, local health departments and tribes that wish to conduct mass vaccination exercises (in accordance with the guidelines for such exercises from OPEHC) should reach out to schools in their jurisdiction to determine their interest in having influenza clinic(s) in the fall or winter of the 2022-2023 school year, in order to determine the amount and type of vaccine you wish to prebook for these efforts.
Please keep in mind that influenza clinics should not be scheduled in September or early October because vaccine is not always available at that time.
Ordering Instructions
Complete instructions can be printed by clicking on the "instructions for creating prebook requests" link under VFC Renewal and Registration Forms.
You must place your order on the Wisconsin Immunization Registry (WIR). As a reminder, sign into WIR and on the top you will see "R/R." Click on R/R and it will bring you to the next screen. Under "VFC Renewal and Registration Forms" you will click on the link "Begin Influenza Prebooking Request." You will choose the dropdown MASS EXERCISE when placing your order for prebook.
Remember, you are ordering doses, not number of boxes.
