Important Updates: CDC COVID-19 Public Health Workforce Development Supplemental Funding – Budget and Work Plan Submission
Deadline Extension
The deadline for all local and tribal public health agencies to complete and submit their Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) COVID-19 Public Health Workforce Development Supplemental Funding (COVID-19 Workforce Development Funding) budget and work plan has been extended to Thursday, February 24, 2022.
Funding Guidance
As a reminder, a contract objectives document for this funding is available on the Local and Tribal Objectives page of the Partner Communication and Alerting (PCA) Portal. This document includes information on allowable costs, allowable activities, and deliverables. Additional information is available on the CDC website.
Budget Revisions
The Office of Preparedness and Emergency Health Care (OPEHC) will allow local and tribal public health agencies to move up to 25% of their approved budget between categories (travel, supplies, etc.) without prior approval. Any change over 25% of the approved budget will require prior approval from OPEHC along with a revised budget.
How to Submit
The PCA Portal has been updated to allow for submission of COVID-19 Workforce Development Funding budget and work plans. The submission process is the same as for preparedness budgets:
- Complete the appropriate template with your budget information. The COVID-19 Workforce Development Funding budget and work plan template is available on the Local and Tribal Objectives page.
- Go to the Local Preparedness Budget Management page, scroll to the bottom, and select “Submit a New Budget.”
- Choose the appropriate cooperative agreement and jurisdiction. In this case, the cooperative agreement will be “CDC COVID-19 Workforce Development Crisis Response.”
- Enter your completed values (salary, fringe, travel, equipment, supplies, contractual, indirect costs, and other) from the Excel "Summary" page into the online local and tribal preparedness budget form under the “Initial Budget” column.
- Attach your completed Excel file to the form (pink box).
- Click the “Save” icon in the upper left corner of the webpage. Your budget will be saved to the PCA Portal and will be accessible to you and Department of Health Services staff.
