Wisconsin Long-Term Care (LTC) Education Series

Topic: Identifying, Investigating, and Responding to Novel MDROs   

Multidrug-resistant organisms (MDROs) have lasting impacts on the health care continuum and are of increasing concern, especially post-pandemic. This presentation will provide a background on selected novel MDROs, including their background, risks, and current surveillance in Wisconsin. The presentation will also provide an overview of the public health MDRO response process for long-term care facilities to safely care for residents who are colonized, infected, or at risk of acquiring MDROs.

The Division of Quality Assurance will also provide a brief review of visitation guidelines in long-term care facilities to highlight common questions and concerns.
