Wisconsin Long-Term Care (LTC) Education Series

Date: Thursday, June 24, 10:30 a.m.

Topic: Hand Hygiene: More Than Just Soap and Water

Hand hygiene remains one of the most critical infection prevention and control practices. While it may seem to be a basic topic that everyone already knows, hand hygiene also persists as one of the regulatory issues most frequently cited in Wisconsin. This session will provide examples of best practices, dispel myths, walk through next steps beyond auditing, describe common themes in hand hygiene-related survey citations, and include a patient’s perspective on the downstream effect of hand hygiene, among other infection control processes.

Review of some infection prevention and control best practices to follow.
