DHS Community-Based Vaccination Clinics to Begin Ramping Down Operations
Multiple COVID-19 vaccination options continue to be available
Due to lessened demand, the Wisconsin Department of Health Services (DHS) announces today that the six DHS community-based vaccination clinics will begin a gradual transition to close in late July 2021.
As of Monday, June 14, the vaccination clinics will begin gradually reducing operations to one to two days per week with limited hours. Specific days and times will vary by site to accommodate the timeframes of highest demand seen in each community. The clinics will offer both Pfizer and Johnson & Johnson to ensure people will be able to complete their vaccine series before the clinics close. All efforts will be made to provide education and secure a second dose appointment for all individuals at an alternative location when the second dose is due after clinic closure.
The six DHS community-based vaccination clinics are located in Barron County, Douglas County, La Crosse County, Marathon County, Racine County, and Rock County. These clinics are operated by AMI Expeditionary Healthcare in partnership with local entities.
Since having launched the first DHS community-based vaccination clinic in Rock County on February 16, 82,697 doses of COVID-19 vaccine have been administered across all sites.
This has been an extremely successful effort. DHS is proud of the work that has been accomplished across all six sites and thanks all participating counties and partners for their contributions and collaboration.
