Important Reminder: May 6, 2021 - Deadline for waiver requests allowing Nurse Aide Emergency Training Programs (ETPs) and temporary nurse aides to continue working uninterrupted throughout the duration of the Federal 1135 waiver

Approved nurse aide training programs, facilities with Emergency Training Programs (ETPs) and those employing temporary nurse aides who have not yet received an approved waiver of Wis. Administrative Rule DHS 129 and would like to continue to run an ETP or employ temporary nurse aides are reminded to request the waiver by May 6, 2021.

If you do not receive an approval for a waiver, you will no longer be able to run an ETP or employ temporary nurse aides. This includes employing aides for longer than 120 days without them being included on the Wisconsin Nurse Aide Registry.
