Bed Tracking System for Skilled Nursing Facilities – Registration & Training Webinar March 16

The Department of Health Services (DHS), in partnership with LeadingAge Wisconsin, LeadingChoice Network, the Wisconsin Health Care Association/Center for Assisted Living (WHCA/WiCAL), and the Wisconsin Hospital Association (WHA), is announcing a new bed tracking system for skilled nursing facilities in Wisconsin. The system is housed on the same platform used by Wisconsin hospitals to track bed capacity and will provide a real time picture of bed availability at nursing homes across the state.

Currently DHS uses a web-based software to track critical infrastructure on a local, regional, and statewide level. Integrating skilled nursing facilities into this system builds on lessons the state has learned during the pandemic and improves situational awareness for Wisconsin’s health care partners.

Facilities will be able to report bed availability metrics in EMResource. This data then feeds a dashboard which can be viewed by other health care partners using the software.
