Activation of Part B of the Pharmacy Partnership for Long-term Care Program

DHS has officially activated Part B of the Pharmacy Partnership for Long-term Care Program. The Pharmacy Partnership for Long Term Care Program is split into two parts. Part A includes the vaccination of skilled nursing facilities, which began December 28th, and part B includes the vaccination of the remaining facilities enrolled in the program, including assisted living facilities.

After careful planning and coordination, our Wisconsin vaccine team was able to reserve enough of Wisconsin’s Moderna vaccine allocation to ensure all residents and staff at LTCFs enrolled in the program could receive the vaccine and be protected against COVID-19. Part B activation is effective at the federal level January 25, 2021. Additionally, approved vaccinators, including pharmacies and local health departments, may begin vaccinating assisted living and other eligible phase 1A facilities who are not part of the federal program.
