Flu Prebook 2021-2022

It's never too early to start thinking Flu Season 2021. The window to prebook will open in approximately two weeks to collect your data for the 2021-22 flu season.

Information will be sent on how to enter that prebook soon.

Influenza Vaccine

FluMist Expired?

Do you have FluMist® that has expired?  AstraZeneca has announced they will have the FluMist® Replacement Program again this year. Read the replacement policy.

If you choose not to replace the FluMist®, you will follow the general vaccine return policies of the Immunization Program and complete the Vaccine Return Authorization Form as you do with all state supplied vaccines.

We have been informed by CDC that FluMist® is no longer available for ordering the rest of this influenza season.

Need more Influenza Vaccine?

The Immunization Program still has VFC Influenza vaccine available. If additional doses are needed, please email Jackie Nelson and be sure to include your VFC PIN, number of doses needed, the type of vaccine preferred, and a phone number.

Vaccine Returns

Since the COVID-19 pandemic began, most of our staff have been reassigned to other duties and you may have noticed that returns are taking longer to process. Please continue to email your returns to VFC@dhs.wisconsin.gov. It can take up to six weeks to get your authorization number returned to you. Please do not send that return form to us again, as it could create another return and additional work. Once the vaccine is expired, you can remove it from your refrigerator so it is not taking up valuable space.

WIR/VFC Open Forum

Save the date! We are bringing back the WIR/VFC Open Forum starting Thursday, January 20, 2021, from 11:30 a.m.–12:15 p.m..

The Wisconsin Immunization Registry (WIR) and VFC units will hold this open forum session to give you an opportunity to ask questions that you may have about VFC, annual re-enrollment, vaccine ordering, WIR, WIR reports, and other topics. While forum participation is not required, the forum is being offered as another way to allow you to connect with WIR and VFC staff from the Immunization Program.

This forum is for questions on WIR/VFC only and will not cover COVID-19.

Open forum sessions will be held monthly. More information and the platform link will be coming soon.

Thank you.
