WIR Data Exchange-COVID-19 Vaccine Updates
Dear Data Exchange Partners,
A lot of your organizations will be going through an enrollment process to get approval to administer COVID-19 vaccine in Wisconsin. We currently have you listed as a technical contact and wanted to provide you with an update in regards to Data Exchange specifically regarding COVID-19 vaccination. This will be different than past implementations of vaccines, because of many different factors.
If your organization is working to register and administer COVID-19 vaccine and wants to submit data to us via data exchange, please send an email to DHSImmunizationProgram@dhs.wisconsin.gov with the subject of COVID-19 Data Exchange – <Organization Name> filling in the name of your organization. This will establish you in our testing/review/validation data exchange queue for COVID-19. If your organization is not established in the COVID-19 data exchange queue for COVID-19 and testing/review and validation do not occur then your organization will have to manually enter the COVID-19 vaccination administration information into WIR until we can establish the testing/review/validation of your messages for COVID-19.
Provider Queue Update: With COVID vaccine movement taking precedence at DHS over the next several months, please expect a shift in our prioritization of the existing data exchange queue with the testing/review/validation of COVID-19 taking precedence. This means that those who do not currently have a connection and COVID vaccination providers will take precedence. The requests to upgrade messaging to a newer version and also implement query functionality will not be priority projects; however, they will still remain in the queue.
COVID Data Submission Update: With COVID specific vaccine administration we have some information below to assist you in reviewing information you are currently submitting over to WIR. If you are not currently submitting we request that you to work towards identifying those gaps and figuring the best way to capture the information within your system and send it across to us via your existing current data exchange connection. These data elements are critical information that needs to be captured and submitted by your system over to us so that we can appropriately retain this information and report it accurately to the CDC. There is information that is still unknown at this point as to some of the specific data exchange elements (CVX Code, NDC Code, MVX Code) needed to submit to us. Those will be communicated to you when we know more specifics in regards to those upon on boarding for testing/validation/review.
Information below in bold is what is recommended to submit for a field that may contain/submit multiple values.
