Updated Guidance on Contact Risk Assessment and Initiation of Quarantine for Contacts of COVID-19 Cases
This bulletin is being sent to local health officers, tribal health directors, and public health nurses and staff.
The CDC has updated guidance on the infectious period of asymptomatic COVID-19 cases and updated the definition of close contact to include being within 6 feet for more than 15 minutes. As a result, DHS has updated documents based on the CDC guidance. Quarantine guidance for close/household contacts has also been updated and clarified in these documents.
You can find these updated resources on the PCA Portal under Local and Tribal Health Department Resources:
Companion guidance for cases and contacts will be added to the DHS COVID-19 website soon.
New Filter Added to PHAVR COVID-19 Incident Report List
A county of residence filter has been added to the COVID-19 Incident Report List on PHAVR in addition to the jurisdiction filter. Local and tribal health departments can pull a de-identified list of COVID-19 cases that would be included in the daily confirmed case counts.
