You will be getting temporary food benefits in place of school meals

Based on our records, you have a child or children who usually get free or reduced price meals through their school. Because schools are closed as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, you will get temporary food benefits in place of school meals. These benefits are also called Pandemic EBT or P-EBT.

You will get the benefits for March and April first. The combined benefit amount for March and April is $176.70 for each child who gets free or reduced price school meals. You will get these benefits one of two ways:

  • If you have an active QUEST card, the March and April benefits will be put on your card on May 10. If you cannot find your QUEST card, please call QUEST Card Service at 877-415-5164 to get a new card.
  • If you don’t have a QUEST card, you will get a P-EBT card in the mail with the March and April benefits. We will start mailing P-EBT cards the week of May 11.

Both these cards can be used like debit cards to buy food.

The combined May and June benefit amount, which is $148.20 for each child who gets free or reduced price school meals, will be put on your QUEST card or P-EBT card at the end of May.

You can check the balance on your card at any time on the ebtEDGE website or ebtEDGE mobile app.

We will be sending you a letter in the mail with more information about these benefits. You can also find more information on the Wisconsin Department of Health Services website.
