COVID-19 Update: Some FoodShare Members Will Get Additional Benefits for March and April

Under the federal Families First Coronavirus Response Act, the Wisconsin Department of Health Services is able to give households eligible for FoodShare benefits the maximum monthly benefit amount. As a result, over 215,000 FoodShare households will be getting additional FoodShare benefits for March and April.

That amount will be based on the number of eligible people in the household during March and April. If the household is currently repaying benefits due to an error, this will also impact the benefit amount.

FoodShare households not currently getting the maximum monthly benefit amount will get additional benefits for March and April, bringing them up to the maximum amount. The additional March benefits will be on QUEST cards on April 12, and the additional April benefits will be on QUEST cards on April 26.

Households already getting the maximum amount will not get additional benefits.

Below is the maximum monthly benefit amount available to members based on the number of people in the household:

People in the household Maximum monthly benefit amount
1 $194
2 $355
3 $509
4 $646
5 $768
6 $921
7 $1,018
8 $1,164
Each additional person Add $146

Households getting the additional benefits will get a letter notifying them of the amount. There is also a flyer that partners can share with members to let them know about the additional benefits.
