COVID-19

This bulletin is being sent to Local Public Health Officers and Tribal Health Directors.

For your situational awareness, we wanted to let you know that earlier today, the State Emergency Operations Center Surge Task Force released a surge planning framework specifically developed to assist the State of Wisconsin and Wisconsin hospitals as they plan how to most effectively care for COVID-19 patients throughout the state.

This document provides examples and discussion points to help hospital systems and State government to plan for a transition from the usual care to contingency care to crisis care (and back) should a limited amount of resources stress systems beyond capacity.

The SEOC Surge Task Force also provided a memo from the Department of Health Services Division of Quality Assurance that summarizes the effect of federal and state waivers related to facility requirements that are intended to support hospitals in preparing for their response to the COVID-19.

Both of these documents are also available on the PCA Portal.
