Updates for local agencies, community-based organizations, and providers who provide assistance to members of Wisconsin's health and nutrition public assistance programs.
MilES Changes in Essential Services Limited Hours
Starting the week of April 6, 2020, MilES will provide walk-up service from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays only at the Marcia P. Coggs location, 1220 W. Vliet Street for the following services:
- Mail pickup for the homeless
- Document scanning
Members will be asked to line up outside the building. Security will be on site to ensure that people standing in line are distanced from each other. Once a member reaches the front of the line, they will be asked to show identification, if they have it, through the glass window. If the member does not have identification, clerical staff will look up the member’s information. Members will not enter the building; instead MilES staff will retrieve the member’s mail or scan documents for the member. No other services will be provided. Members should not come to the building if they have a fever, dry cough, or shortness of breath. As of March 19, 2020, until further notice, the MilES Ross and UMOS locations are also closed to the public.
During the closure, applicants are encouraged to apply for FoodShare, health care, or Wisconsin Shares Child Care Subsidy benefits using the ACCESS website. Clients can also access services by phone by calling (888) 947-6583 (voice) or 711 (TTY), Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
If members would like to check the status of programs and benefits they are enrolled in, get reminders about actions they need to take, and submit and track documents, they can try the simple and convenient MyACCESS mobile app. The app can be downloaded for free on the App Store or Google Play Store.
Clients are still able to fax documents for processing. Documents can be faxed to (414) 438-4580 (without a document tracking sheet) or (888) 409-1979 (with a document tracking sheet). Applicants/members are strongly encouraged to use the MyACCESS app to upload documents when possible.
Documents can also be mailed to:
