Plan Review and Inspection Update
At this time, the Division of Quality Assurance, Office of Plan Review and Inspection (OPRI) continues to serve customers during the COVID-19 outbreak. We have closed the regional offices and we encourage you to use the available online resources.
The OPRI plan intake coordinator continues to process submittals and we ask that digital documents be submitted for review when possible. The application process can be accomplished with a scanned copy of the completed and signed form but the payment method remains by check. Please continue mailing plan review fees to the Milwaukee plan intake office. We appreciate your patience and understanding during these unprecedented times.
Currently OPRI also continues conducting some inspections. As long as health care construction continues in the state, we will work with all of our stakeholders to promote the safety of those structures now and in the future. Currently health care construction inspections are being conducted in accordance with the following criteria:
- Health care construction project inspections are being conducted in project areas that do not involve patient or resident care areas.
- Health care construction project inspections are being conducted in project areas that do require access through patient or resident care areas.
- Health care construction project inspections are being conducted in project areas in accordance with the current CDC and State of Wisconsin DHS criteria.
o Those practices include social distancing as well as potential virtual visits. We recognize the immediate threat to health and safety that COVID-19 presents. Therefore, we support the use of video and photo-based inspections in order to limit face-to-face contact. Each of our OPRI staff will determine whether the electronic inspection yields the necessary information to provide approval.
