CMS recently issued guidance to state survey agencies regarding survey activities (QSO-20-12-all) as well as specific guidance for hospitals, nursing homes, hospices and EMTALA requirements. Much of the CMS guidance for nursing homes is also appropriate for assisted living facilities.
