Stakeholder Call Series: Wisconsin Programs Eligibility Policy Updates

February 19, 2020: Public Charge

The Wisconsin Department of Health Services (DHS) recently started a new stakeholder call series to provide information about eligibility policy updates and rule changes affecting Wisconsin programs, such as FoodShare and Medicaid.

Next Stakeholder Call Information

  • Date: Wednesday, February 19, at 12 p.m.
  • Topic: Public charge. Everyone's situation is different, but in some cases getting health care benefits, long-term care services, FoodShare, cash benefits, or housing assistance could have an impact on whether an immigrant will be able to get a green card or change their immigration status. The U.S. Department of Homeland Security plans to implement a new federal rule relating to this policy, called “public charge,” starting February 24, 2020.
  • Call-in information: Call 877-820-7831, and use access code 361278.
  • Email us with questions about the call.
