New Wisconsin Programs Eligibility Policy Updates Call Series Launching at Noon on January 24, 2020

Friday’s Call Covers 2020 FoodShare Rule Changes

The Department of Health Services (DHS) is launching a new stakeholder call series to provide information about eligibility policy updates and rule changes affecting Wisconsin programs, such as FoodShare. This series will be starting at noon on Friday, January 24, 2020.

The first call will cover 2020 FoodShare and FoodShare Employment and Training (FSET) rule changes currently being implemented by the federal Food and Nutrition Service (FNS). The conference line is 877-820-7831 and the access code is 361278.

Latest Update

There are multiple FNS rule changes for 2020 that will affect FoodShare and FSET members in Wisconsin. It is the goal of the January 24 call to provide clarity about these new rules and how they are being implemented, as well as how they will affect Wisconsin residents, with a specific focus on the able-bodied adults without dependents (ABAWD) final rule issued by FNS in December 2019.

Questions and Further Information

In time, DHS will be posting up-to-date information regarding the stakeholder call series on our website. Additional information on how to submit questions will be discussed during the first call.

DHS is starting with bi-weekly calls, and then will continue the stakeholder call series on an as needed basis to provide additional policy updates. Further information about the next call will be sent out prior to its scheduling.
