Registration is Open! Hand Hygiene: A Resident Safety Imperative

Tuesday, October 15, 2019

Registration is now available for the “Hand Hygiene: A Resident Safety Imperative” conference for Wisconsin nursing homes. The conference will take place on October 15, 2019, at the Madison Marriott West Hotel and Conference Center in Madison and costs just $50 per person. The conference is a cooperative effort of the Wisconsin Department of Health Services, Division of Quality Assurance, and the Wisconsin Healthcare-Associated Infections (HAIs) in Long-Term Care Coalition.

The keynote address will be delivered by Dr. John Boyce, who was the lead co-author of the 2002 CDC Guideline for Hand Hygiene in Healthcare Settings.

Other presenters at the conference will address a variety of topics, including:

  • CDC/WHO hand hygiene guidelines
  • Product selection
  • Hand hygiene regulation, including most common deficiencies
  • How to perform hand hygiene surveillance

This activity will be submitted to Wisconsin Nurses Association (WNA) Continuing Education Approval Program for approval to award contact hours. The WNA is accredited as an approver of continuing nursing education by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation.

The number of contact hours granted will depend upon sessions attended and return of the completed evaluation form.
