Wisconsin Long-Term Care Urinary Tract Infection (UTI) Toolkit

The Wisconsin Healthcare-Associated Infections (HAIs) in Long Term Care (LTC) Coalition is pleased to announce the availability of the Wisconsin Long-Term Care Urinary Tract Infection (UTI) Toolkit now available on the Clinical Resource Center (CRC) website and the Wisconsin HAIs in LTC Coalition Resources webpage.

The UTI Toolkit was developed by the Coalition to help long-term care facilities:

  • Standardize the assessment process and communication of findings in residents experiencing a change-in-condition where UTI is suspected.
  • Promote the use of active monitoring and delay urine testing and antibiotic treatment among residents where the risk of suspected UTI is suspected.
  • Promote appropriate use of antibiotics (drug, dose, duration) in residents where the risk of suspected UTI is high.

The UTI Toolkit provides a wealth of educational materials: videos, PowerPoint presentations, brochures, infographics, case studies, tools, references, and links to additional resources.
