Multi-State Hepatitis A Outbreaks

Multiple states are reporting cases of Hepatitis A. Cases have occurred primarily among three risk groups:

• Persons who use injection or non-injection drugs
• Persons experiencing homelessness
• Men who have sex with men

Due to the increase in cases, the Wisconsin Department of Health Services is asking providers to identify and vaccinate at risk patients and to report any cases of Hepatitis A to your local health department. Please see the following memo for details, as well as information about clinical and lab criteria and case classification.
