We Want Your Input on the Interagency Competitive Integrated Employment (CIE) Joint Plan: 2017 Wisconsin Act 178

We hope you are able to join us for a stakeholder input session where the first draft of the Interagency Competitive Integrated Employment (CIE) Plan will be discussed via videoconference at DVR locations around the state, and at the Aging and Disability Resource Center of Brown County, on February 27, 2019, from 11 a.m.–1 p.m.

You are invited to provide comments in-person at the meeting or via email at DVRCIEPublicComm@dwd.wisconsin.gov by close of business on February 27, 2019.

It is an exciting time in the state of Wisconsin for CIE. The 2017 Wis. Act 178, also known as the employment first initiative, prioritizes CIE for individuals with disabilities in Wisconsin. The Act, signed into law on March 28, 2018, requires the Department of Health Services (DHS), Department of Workforce Development (DWD)-Division of Vocational Rehabilitation (DVR), and Department of Public Instruction (DPI) to collaborate, with the input of stakeholders, to develop a joint plan to increase outcomes of CIE.

The Interagency CIE plan establishes performance improvement targets and describes methods used to coordinate efforts to ensure that programs, policies, and procedures support CIE. The plan has been developed by a CIE workgroup and a CIE leadership workgroup with representatives from the DHS, DWD-DVR, and DPI.

More information about the session and the plan can be found on the CIE Plan website.
