Message from new Preadmission Screen and Resident Review Level II screen partner

This is the third in a series of messages regarding Wisconsin's new partner for Preadmission Screen and Resident Review (PASRR) Level II screens.

The new partner, MAXIMUS, begins to support Wisconsin on Friday, March 1, 2019. The Wisconsin Department of Health Services is sharing the following message on behalf of MAXIMUS.

One of the nation's leading providers of high-quality assessment services, the MAXIMUS team's primary goal for this transition is to continue building upon the solid foundation of PASRR best practices that have previously been established across Wisconsin. Rather than any disruptions to current processes and procedures, continuing service in the program will focus on the assurance that providers have all the tools and resources necessary to complete PASRR Level II screens.

Understanding PASRR
PASRR is a federal requirement established in 1987 to identify individuals with mental illness and/or intellectual developmental disability to ensure appropriate placement in the community or a nursing facility. PASRR ensures these individuals receive the services they require. Since its adoption, the PASRR tool has been critical in making a positive impact for thousands of individuals in Wisconsin.

What are the next steps in the process?
The planned management transition to MAXIMUS is slated for completion on Friday, March 1, 2019.

Beginning March 1, 2019, submit all referrals for PASRR Level II screens to MAXIMUS by fax at 877-431-9568 with “Attn: WI PASRR” on the cover sheet. Referrals may also be mailed to MAXIMUS.
